A thriving downtown doesn’t happen by chance — it takes focus, collaboration, and action. The Meadville Community Revitalization Corporation is leading this effort by turning vacant spaces into community assets, building strong partnerships between public and private stakeholders, and securing the funding needed to make ambitious projects possible. At the same time, we’re supporting existing businesses and welcoming new ones to strengthen the heart of our city. Together, these strategies ensure downtown Meadville grows into a place that is vibrant, resilient, and full of opportunity for all.
Activation of Vacant and Underutilized Properties
The MCRC will lead efforts to revitalize vacant buildings and underutilized spaces, transforming them into valuable assets for the community. This in turn will drive community and economic growth while strengthening livability.
Development of Public-Private Partnerships
The MCRC will facilitate collaboration among private developers, business owners, government agencies, local residents, and nonprofits, leveraging their strengths for comprehensive redevelopment.
Securing Funding and Coordinating Resources
The MCRC will leverage grants, tax credits, and other financial tools that individual businesses, property owners, the RDA, and the City may need assistance securing.
Fostering Business Retention and Attraction
The MCRC will work to attract new businesses, and support existing businesses in the Central Business District. This in turn will drive community and economic growth while strengthening livability.
